From sunrise to sunset, the Economic and Social Council was set on creating a joint agreement on the regulation of child marriage. The People’s Republic of China offered today’s resolution paper with a contemporary take: inviting member states to create a ‘safe-space’ program.

With ambitious engagement, and a flood of points of information, the Council progressed towards perfecting the resolution. Constructive critique was given and positive clarifications were made throughout the debate on numerous amendments.

As an amendment was passed by acclamation this evening, today’s session ended in a round of applause.
