The People&#8217;s Republic of China submitted a resolution paper with a refreshing\u00a0take on ethical standards of therapeutic cloning. These standards focus not only on therapeutic consent but also on their privacy, hoping to\u00a0protect patients from some\u00a0social consequences of biomedical engineering.<\/p>\n<p>There appears to be a change of tone in the international community, as the resolution passes with nine votes in favour, none against, and two abstentions, despite supporting practice all of biomedical engineering outside the scope of international agreements and national law.
